Changes in Firmware Version 1.0.2.0:
These models are now able to record, play back, and copy movies in MXP and FXP modes with Class10 SD or SDHC memory cards.

Firmware Version 1.0.2.0 is for camcorders with firmware version 1.0.0.0 or 1.0.1.0. If the camcorder's firmware is already Version 1.0.2.0, it is not necessary to update the firmware. Once the camcorder is updated to the latest version, it cannot be restored to a previous version.
 

Preparations for the Firmware Update:
If you perform the update, the menu settings will be reset. Accordingly, please modify the settings to match your preferences after the update.

The downloaded folder contains the firmware (file name: VEG2.FIM / file size: 18.433 MB), and instructions on the firmware update procedures (a PDF file in five languages: Japanese, English, French, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese). Before starting the firmware update operations, please be sure to confirm the contents of the download and carefully read through the firmware update procedures.

The following items are required to perform this firmware update:

1. Camcorder
2. A computer (OS: Windows or Mac OS X) OS: Windows 7 (Service Pack 1) / Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) / Windows XP (Service Pack 3) or Mac OS X (10.5-10.6)
3. A 32 MB or higher-capacity SD Memory Card or an SDHC Memory Card (both commercially available)
4. A memory card reader (commercially available) or an SD card slot on the computer
5. A fully charged battery pack for the camcorder
6. Compact power adapter bundled with the camcorder
7. The firmware (the downloaded file)
