The EOS 6D Mark II camera is primed to thrill moviemakers of all skill levels with powerful features, simple operation and stunning results. Full HD 60P and 4K Time-lapse video recording is just the start; the EOS 6D Mark II has sophisticated focus tracking, light sensitivity and recording features that will both encourage and inspire great movies.
Full-frame Full HD Video
The EOS 6D Mark II camera makes it easy to capture and share high-definition, high-quality movies quickly, easily and with virtually no compromise. In bright daylight or at dusk, whatever the speed of the action, the EOS 6D Mark II can help make sharp, beautifully exposed 60p videos. The camera’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF system focuses fast when shooting in Live View, and Movie Servo AF tracking helps maintain focus even when the action gets going. The Vari-angle Touch Screen LCD also makes it easy to compose from almost any vantage point, while Creative Filters and a clever Video Snapshot feature encourage experimentation. The ability to record movies as both MOV and MP4 files makes sharing fast and easy. Manual volume recording control, digital zooming and a headphone terminal add to the EOS 6D Mark II’s impressive collection of high-end moviemaking features.
Focus Racking & Movie Servo AF
Focus is natural and smooth thanks to customizable focus racking. Adjust AF speed and/or subject tracking sensitivity by setting the Movie Servo AF speed in the menu to refine the camera’s focus racking responsiveness.
Movie Digital IS
Camera shake is inevitable at times, whether you’re ready to record the game-winning goal while running to keep up with the players, or when the landscape is epic but you’re riding in the car on a bumpy road. Movie Digital IS* helps minimize image blur due to shake, even when recording Full HD videos. When enabled and used with a compatible lens, 5-axis stabilization helps minimize image blur in the horizontal, vertical, and rotational planes.
* Movie Digital IS cannot be used with the following lenses: EF 50mm F1.2L USM, EF 85mm F1.2L II USM, EF 200mm F2L IS USM, EF 300mm F2.8L IS II USM, EF 400mm F2.8L IS II USM, EF 500mm F4L IS II USM, EF 600mm F4L IS II USM, EF 800mm F5.6L IS USM, EF 200–400mm F4L IS USM.
4K/Full HD Time-lapse Video
The EOS 6D Mark II camera features both 4K and Full HD Time-lapse video recording that automatically combines still images captured over specified intervals. Whether observing the movement of clouds over a cityscape or a bud transforming into a fully bloomed flower, time-lapse videos excel at showing changes to a subject or landscape in a short amount of time. With the Battery Grip BG-E21 attached, the EOS 6D Mark II can be used to shoot time-lapse videos for even longer periods of time.
The EOS 6D Mark II camera introduces a number of new HDR (High Dynamic Range) modes that offer a great range of highlight and shadow detail for naturally rendered images, especially in contrasting lighting. In HDR Movie mode, the EOS 6D Mark II captures two HD movie frames at different exposures, one standard and one underexposed, in short succession at up to 60 fps, then combines them together for playback at up to 30 fps. HDR effects for still photography include Natural, Art standard, Art bold, Art vivid and Art embossed.
