Canon Latin America Group ("CLAG," “we,” “our” or "us") – a division of Canon U.S.A., Inc. ("Canon USA") – respects your concerns about privacy and values our relationship with you. This privacy statement (the "Privacy Statement") is intended to inform you of the types of information we collect, as well as our policies and practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of that information, through this website, it web pages, interactive features, products, services, solutions, software, and forms located at https://www.cla.canon.com (the "Services"), whether accessed via computer, tablet, mobile device or any other technology or device now known or hereafter developed (“Device”).
This Privacy Statement applies to CLAG and any Services that link to this Privacy Statement.
1. INFORMATION COLLECTED ON THE SITE.
We and our service providers may collect information when you provide information to us and when information is collected automatically from your interaction with the Services. Data collected by CLAG shall be handled in accordance with the law of the country in which you reside.

Usage Information. Whenever you visit or interact with the Services, we, as well as any third party service providers, may use a variety of technologies that automatically or passively collect information about how the Services are accessed and used (“Usage Information”). Usage Information may include the URL you are coming from, your browser type, Device type, operating system, the page served, the time, and your use of features on the Services, such as the chat feature. This information helps us keep our Services fresh and interesting to our users and allows us to tailor content to a user’s interests.
Device Identifier. We automatically collect your IP address or other unique identifier (“Device Identifier”) for the Device you use to access the Services. A Device Identifier is a number that is assigned to your Device when you access a website or its servers, and our computers identify your Device by its Device Identifier. We may use a Device Identifier to, among other things, administer the Services, diagnose problems with our servers, evaluate Services navigation and better understand the demographics of our Services visitors so we can provide more relevant content, functionality and offers.
How to delete cookies. If you would prefer not to accept Cookies, most browsers will allow you to: (i) change your browser settings to notify you when you receive a Cookie, which lets you choose whether or not to accept it; (ii) disable existing Cookies; or (iii) set your browser to automatically reject any Cookies.
Please be aware that if you disable or reject Cookies, some features and services offered or present on the Services may be slower or may not work or display properly.
Web Beacons. We may also include web beacons (also known as Internet tags, pixel tags, tracking beacons and clear GIFs) with the content that we deliver to you, which we will use to collect information regarding your interaction with such content. A web beacon is a transparent graphic image placed on a web page or in an email, which indicates that a page or email has been viewed or that an email has been forwarded. In addition, a web beacon allows third parties to obtain information such as the IP address of the computer that downloaded the page on which the beacon appears, the URL of the page on which the beacon appears, the time the page containing the beacon was viewed, the type of browser used to view the page, and the information in Cookies set by the third party. A web beacon may also tell your browser to get content from another server.
Analytics Services. We use web analytics tools such as Google Analytics to assist us in understanding how people use the Services and related marketing and promotions. We may from time to time share your information with Canon USA’s affiliates which may be located outside of the country you reside or are located in, including, but not limited to, Canon Panama, S. A., and Canon USA’s parent company, Canon Inc., located in Japan. When you provide information via the Services, for example to apply for a job, we will also share your information with our affiliates to enable them to inform you of jobs, products, promotions, or other offers that may be of interest to you.
3.2 Third Parties Providing Services on Our Behalf
We may also share your information with certain business partners and third party service providers, which may be located outside of the country in which you reside or are located, to enable them to perform functions and process user data on our behalf, consistent with section 2 above. Third parties may include our data analytics providers and internet service providers. We take reasonable steps designed to ensure that such third parties are obligated to use your information only to perform the service for which they are engaged, and that such third parties' processing of user data will be subject to security and confidentiality obligations consistent with this Privacy Statement and the applicable law of the country in which you reside or are located. You expressly consent to your information being used as set out in this Section 3.

You can also ask us to delete your Personal Information; however, please be aware that we may need to retain some of your information in order to maintain our records, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. It may not always be possible to completely remove or delete all of your information from our databases without some residual data remaining because of backups and other reasons.

We will take reasonable steps to process your opt-out request. We are under no obligation to store your Personal Information indefinitely and disclaim any liability arising out of, or related to, the destruction of such Personal Information.
5. BROWSER DO NOT TRACK SIGNALS.
Although our websites currently do not have a mechanism to recognize the various web browser Do Not Track signals, we do offer our customers choices to manage their preferences that are provided in the previous sections above. 6. TRANSFER TO OTHER COUNTRIES.
While the Services are provided to you in the country in which you reside or are located, the CLAG servers that process the data you provide us, and the call center you are connected to via the Services, are located in the United States, Panama, Japan and other jurisdictions. By using the Services, or providing us with any information, you understand that the collection, processing, maintenance, transfer and storage of such information will occur in the United States, Panama, Japan and other jurisdictions where the privacy laws may be different from those in the country where you reside or are located, and waive any claims relating to the collection, processing, maintenance, transfer or storage of data outside of such country.
When you submit information to CLAG through the Services, you should be aware that your information is transmitted across multiple computer systems on the Internet. While we take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect your information, no security measures are completely secure, and we do not guarantee the security of user information at any time.
The Services are not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect, use or disclose Personal Information from children under 13 without complying with applicable law. If you are under 13 years of age, do not use the Services and do not provide any Personal Information to us. If we discover that we have unknowingly collected person information from a child under 13, we will make reasonable efforts to delete it.
9. HOW WE WILL INFORM YOU OF CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY STATEMENT.
Please note that we reserve the right to change this Privacy Statement, at any time. If we modify this Privacy Statement, we will post the revised statement here, with an updated revision date. To the extent that we make material changes, we will provide you with reasonable notice of the changes through the Services. Changes will be effective immediately (except for material changes) upon the posting of the revised Privacy Statement. Please note that if you do not agree to the modified Privacy Statement, you may not use the Services. Your continued use of the Services following the posting of the changes or any applicable notice period will mean that you accept those changes.
CLAG strives to collect, use and disclose Personal Information in a manner consistent with the privacy and data security laws of the countries in which it does business. Because of the differences among these jurisdictions, CLAG has adopted a Privacy Statement which creates a common core of values, policies and procedures intended to achieve nearly universal compliance, supplemented with alternative or additional policies or implementation procedures applicable in those jurisdictions with unique requirements.
Since CLAG must always comply with relevant local laws and regulations, such laws and regulations are to be followed even if they conflict with certain aspects of this Privacy Statement and related standards.
While this Privacy Statement is intended to describe the broadest range of our information processing activities in the United States, Japan, Latin America and the Caribbean, those processing activities may be more limited in some jurisdictions based on the restrictions of their laws. For example, the laws of a particular country may limit the types of Personal Information we can collect or the manner in which we process that information. In those instances, we adjust our internal policies and practices to reflect the requirements of local law and local laws will prevail over terms in this Privacy Statement.
