Firmware Notice: EF 400mm f/2.8L IS III USM and EF 600mm f/4L IS III USM, Firmware version 1.0.8
Thank you for using Canon products. Phenomenon Firmware version 1.0.8 incorporates the following correction: Corrects the phenomenon whereby, during movie shooting, when attached to certain EOS DSLR cameras*1 with the camera’s shooting mode set to M or Av mode, some exposure flicker may happen.
Note: This phenomenon doesn’t occur when shooting still images. Affected Products
Support Firmware version 1.0.8 being released at this time is for lenses equipped with firmware version 1.0.7. The lens firmware version can be checked in the camera’s menu. You can download the latest firmware from the link below. In order to update the lens’ firmware you must use a certain camera. Cameras that can be used to run the lens’ firmware update: (As of March 2019)
Note: A mount adaptor is required when using an EOS R or EOS M series camera to update the lens’ firmware. In the interim, during movie shooting, please perform the workaround procedures below to prevent the occurrence of this phenomenon.
