CPA2026-053 – Remediation for Copy Fail Vulnerability Affecting CPP PRISMAproduction

A vulnerability has been identified in the SUSE Linux kernel (CVE-2026-31431) that could allow a local, non-root user to gain full root privileges on an affected system.

Canon Production Printing (CPP) takes security vulnerabilities seriously and has confirmed that PRISMAproduction runs on an affected version of the Linux kernel. To maintain the security of PRISMAproduction environments, an update is required for all affected installations.

Although we have not received any reports of active exploitation of this vulnerability, we strongly recommend reviewing the security advisory and implementing the recommended remediation measures at the earliest opportunity.
