Canon offers a flexible range of access solutions – including the Access Management System (AMS)* – that can support card or password-based security systems. AMS also provides Function Level Authentication, which can require authentication for security-sensitive functions only. For example, you can allow anyone to print or copy, but ask employees to log in for Send-to-E-mail, Send-to-Folder, and Send-to-Fax features. As a result, you can stay productive and secure.

Authorize Users with Logins or Proximity Cards

Canon solutions can leverage card based solutions to restrict users' access to devices. Advanced Authentication Proximity Card (AA-PROX) is an easy-to-use embedded and secure authentication solution to lock and unlock Canon devices. This serverless solution ensures that all device functions are locked down until users swipe their card over the reader and, if desired, enter their PIN. Only those authenticated individuals are granted access to the device. Using proximity cards in conjunction with Canon's Access Management System (AMS) allows you to restrict user access to specific functionality on the device, such as scanning and e-mailing. uniFLOW* is a network-wide print cost control solution that features robust authentication controls.

Canon offers secure, embedded solutions for government agencies that require card authentication to distribute documents and access other functionality. For example, Authorized Send can require proximity card authentication prior to sending a document or accessing other scan functionalities. uniFLOW* can also prevent anonymous e-mailing by attaching user information to any email sent from an MFP.
