Canon Latin America Group announces new PIXMA G-Series printers featuring easy-to-refill built-in ink tanks for low cost volume printing productivity

New Printers Feature Compact Design, New Hybrid Integrated Ink System, Borderless Printing Capabilities and Speedy Set-up Time

MELVILLE, N.Y., December 1, 2015 – Responding to global demand for printers that can be refilled easily and cost-effectively, Canon U.S.A., Inc., Latin America Group, a leader in digital imaging solutions, today announced a new series of PIXMA printers: the PIXMA G1100 Inkjet Printer, the PIXMA G2100 Inkjet All-in-One Printer, and the PIXMA G3100 Wireless1 Inkjet All-in-One Printer. These are ideal for anyone seeking a cost-effective, high-quality printer offering genuine print reliability, and ease-of-use.

Rather than featuring side-mounted refillable ink tanks, the PIXMA G-series printers are designed with an integrated, built-in refillable ink tank system that are front-facing and housed within the printer, allowing users to easily check the ink levels and refill when needed. Paired with the ink bottle’s spill-resistant tops, this system is designed to provide seamless and clean usability in the office or at home.

"These new PIXMA G-series printer models are ideal for anyone looking for a genuine and reliable high- quality printer that provides excellent productivity, low maintenance, easy-to-refill ink tanks and simple and direct wireless capabilities, for easy printing of photos and documents," said Kenji Kobayashi, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Canon U.S.A. Inc., Latin America Group. “With a new hybrid built-in ink tank system design and an increase in compatible applications available, the PIXMA G Series printers cater to all those who value genuine quality and productivity for a full printing experience.”

The new PIXMA G-series printers’ hybrid ink system utilizes new pigment and dye color hybrid inks which provide deep black for sharp text quality and vibrant colors for visually impactful printing. All of the G-series printers offer borderless printing2 capability, giving users control over the look of their final print. Each printer is also designed with an air-protected, high-quality, durable and flexible tube that helps to keep ink from drying out when the printer is not in use. This method of replenishing ink offers lower cost per page and higher page yield than the prior generation PIXMA printers, with the black ink providing up to 6,000 pages3 per bottle and a total color ink combination of up to 7,000 pages3. The PIXMA G Series ink bottles offer substantial ink capacity with 135 ml in the black bottle and 70 ml for each color ink bottle. Another valued-added feature for the new PIXMA G Series printers is the initial quick installation set-up timeframe which is approximately six minutes4.

Each of the G Series models offers print speeds of up to 8.8 images per minute (ipm) in B/W and 5.0 ipm in color6, 7 and is capable of producing a 4 x 6-inch borderless photo in approximately 60 seconds2,5. In addition, all 3 printers have a maximum color resolution of 4800 x 1200 dpi8. For additional convenience, the printers have Quiet Mode, which is ideal when working in a home or office environment.

PIXMA G3100 Advanced Connectivity:

The new PIXMA G3100 printer offers Wi-Fi® 1 capabilities after a few clicks through the menu options, the printer will be ready to print directly from compatible wireless devices from almost anywhere.
