Canon U.S.A. - Latin America Group introduces the new imageRUNNER ADVANCE 8500 and 6500 Series

These models are the first to feature the Third Generation imageRUNNER ADVANCE platform

MELVILLE, N.Y. March 22, 2016 - Canon U.S.A. - Latin America Group is pleased to announce the immediate release of two new imageRUNNER ADVANCE product families. The monochrome imageRUNNER ADVANCE 8505i/ 8505/ 8595i/ 8595/ 8585i/ 8585 models (up to 105/95/85 ppm) and imageRUNNER ADVANCE 6575i/ 6565i/ 6555i models (up to 75/65/55 ppm) are the first to feature the Third Generation imageRUNNER ADVANCE platform.

Third Generation imageRUNNER ADVANCE Overview:

The Third Generation imageRUNNER ADVANCE platform builds upon proven, award-winning Canon technology to further enhance the user experience and help streamline business workflows. Customers and dealer partners can experience additional value through flexibility and scalability to grow with customer needs, a strong feature set and solutions platform, and platform consistency for end users, management, and service.

Third Generation imageRUNNER ADVANCE models feature a new color scheme based on a review of customer preferences and modern office trends. The two-color scheme was chosen to align with trends of brighter office spaces and feature high contrast colors.

The introduction of this new platform provides an opportunity to reinforce Canon’s position as a leader in innovation and quality. It strengthens Canon’s ability to offer fully integrated and holistic business solutions that can address key customer challenges as it relates to their critical information and workflows.

imageRUNNER ADVANCE 8500/ 6500 Series Overview and Key Features:

The imageRUNNER ADVANCE 8505i/ 8505/ 8595i/ 8595/ 8585i/ 8585 models replace the imageRUNNER ADVANCE 8205/ 8295/ 8285 models as monochrome, high-volume office and CRD offerings. The imageRUNNER ADVANCE 6575i/6565i/6555i models replace the imageRUNNER ADVANCE 6275/6265/6255 models as monochrome, mid- to high-volume office offerings. The new models were designed as reliable, durable products that deliver high quality output. When designing these products, a strong emphasis was placed on maximizing uptime, enabling high print volumes in a multi-user environment, powerful scanning capabilities, intuitive usability, and an increased focus on user authentication.

In addition to the Third Generation imageRUNNER ADVANCE system features, the imageRUNNER ADVANCE 8500/ 6500 Series models introduce the following:

  • Added Value with Newly Standard Features* – Wireless LAN Support and the inclusion of a number of standard features that were previously available as options, such as PCL, Adobe PostScript 3, Universal Login Manager (ULM), Remote Operator’s Software Kit, HDD Encryption, and Scan to Word (OOXML).
  • Reliability and Serviceability – These products are designed for durability, reliability, and ease of service to provide maximum uptime and quality.
  • Powerful Scanning – To meet the high volume scanning requirements that are typical in these environments, these models offer a robust, 300-sheet Single Pass Duplexing Automatic Document Feeder with impressive scan speeds and new scanning features to help improve workflow.
  • Flexible Paper Handling and Finishing – The imageRUNNER ADVANCE 8500/6500 Series offers flexible paper handling with a maximum paper capacity of 7,700 sheets and support of media up to 13” x 19” in size and up to 140 lb. Index (256 gsm) in weight. High volume environments can create professional-looking reports, booklets, newsletters, manuals, proposals, and contracts with flexible finishing options. An optional staple or booklet finisher for the imageRUNNER ADVANCE 6500 Series and imageRUNNER ADVANCE 8585i/ 8585 adds the ability to bind documents with either a staple or with Staple-free Stapling, using an environmentally-conscious staple-free closure (up to 4 sheets).
