Canon launches the new imagePROGRAF iPF670 and iPF770 Large Format Printers

Affordable Printers with User-Friendly Software that Enhances Large Format Print Options For Small Businesses.

MELVILLE, N.Y., June 25, 2015 - Canon U.S.A., Inc., Latin America Group is pleased to announce the launch of three new five-color models into the imagePROGRAF lineup: the 36” iPF770, the 24” iPF670–large format printers, and the iPF770 MFP M40 Scan to Print / File / Share System. These affordable entry-level models support a variety of applications including: posters, presentations, technical documents, drawings, company announcements, and enlargements. Ideal for a variety of industries including Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Education, Offices, and Small Retail, the iPF670 and iPF770 printers offer advanced technology to assist small businesses in maximizing the return on their investment.

The newest additions to Canon’s technical document large format printer lineup aim to boost productivity, while staying true to some of the great legacy features. Fast draft printing, sleek desktop design (iPF670 only), and software enhancements help make printing easier and more convenient than ever before. The sub-ink tank system and user-friendly assembly all carry over to help ensure the printer operates seamlessly into your workflow. These competitively priced printers, when compared to the competition, give your customers more of what they need at a low-end price. Customers that require more advanced functionality can choose the iPF785 or the iPF780 large format printers. These models offer faster print speeds, lower cost prints with the ability to utilize the optional 300ml ink tanks, and the productivity enhancing flat stacking basket.

Highlights of the iPF770 and iPF670 printers include:

Addressing the needs of a diverse range of users, Canon includes or makes available via download software to help users create more productive and efficient workflows. Direct Print & Share 2.0 software has a Shortcut Print feature that allows users to drag and drop files they wish to print into hot folders on their desktop. Canon’s imagePROGRAF Print Utility mobile app helps facilitate wireless printing from an iPad® device.

The SmartWorks MFP software, available with the iPF770 MFP M40 model, gives users the tools you will need to quickly and easily scan to print / file / share large format technical documents. The iPF770 MFP M40 system has the ability to scan documents of up to 315” in length as a PDF or JPEG file, and up to 590” in length as a TIFF file.

Optional Software:

The optional SmartWorks MFP V3.5 Plus, gives users the ability to scan and print multi-page PDF documents on the fly. This allows users to take multiple drawings or documents, scan them in using the M40 scanner, and either save or print this set as one multi-page document. In addition to this added feature, users can now perform color corrections and automatically crop the borders on their files using the preview mode and large touch-screen monitor, to ensure that they will be obtaining the desired output. The Plus version also supports PDF/A archiving functionality.

PosterArtist includes all the essential features customers need to easily create posters, signs, and banners. To make sharing simple, PosterArtist offers the ability to save posters including clipart and fonts. The files can be exported directly from PosterArtist to Canon’s imagePROGRAF Direct Print & Share cloud portal software for sharing between users.
