Canon U.S.A. - Latin America Group announces the new compact and portable photo printer SELPHY CP1000 enabling the printing of high-quality images
Canon SELPHY CP1000 Compact Photo Printer Offers Users the Ability to Easily Print Photo Lab Quality Images Virtually Anytime, Anywhere.
MELVILLE, N.Y., April 16, 2015 – Canon U.S.A. Inc., Latin America Group, a leader in digital imaging solutions, has introduced today the new SELPHY CP1000 Compact Photo Printer, the latest addition to Canon’s line of SELPHY Compact Photo Printers. The SELPHY CP1000 features newly-added mobility features, more print finish options and improved print protection.

Similar to previous models, the Canon SELPHY CP1000 makes printing photos easy, featuring an easy-to-see 2.7-inch tilt-type LCD screen, and a straightforward and intuitive button configuration.
Printing on-the-go is easy with the new SELPHY CP1000 Compact Photo Printer. Enhanced from previous SELPHY models, the easy-to-carry Canon SELPHY CP1000 is compatible with an optional direct-connect battery (NB-CP2L), which is sold separately, enabling users to print while at parties, sporting events or anywhere around the house without plugging in their printer for approximately 4 hours1.
Improved Protection for Outdoor Settings:Since the SELPHY CP1000 can be powered by an optional battery, it can conveniently be used outdoors. However, because many outdoor locations such as sporting events or backyard parties can result in the printer coming into contact with dust or dirt, they could cause malfunction and damaged prints if these particles come in contact with the printer. To counteract this issue, users can attach a dust protection cover to the front of the printer, as well as a rear cover over the print output receptacle, to prevent air and particles from coming into contact with prints.
The SELPHY CP1000 Compact Photo Printer can also produce images with a special film print overcoat which covers photos with an additional layer to protect them from water and dirt. This process also helps prevent the image’s color from bleeding or fading for approximately 100 years2.
In comparison to previous models, the SELPHY CP1000 Compact Photo Printer uses replacement cartridges with increased capacity for more efficient printing. The Canon SELPHY CP1000 helps alleviate the need for troublesome size adjustment by offering 43 different print sizes which allow users to print two differently sized ID photos on a single sheet of paper (4.5x3.5 cm + 5x5cm). This compact photo printer is also equipped with Layout and Border print settings, which are able to be saved and recalled for future use, allowing for a customizable and intuitive user experience.
The SELPHY CP1000 Compact Photo Printer also includes a new shuffle print setting to easily create collage-style artwork and comes standard with a newly-added print finish pattern. These new features provide users with three different surface finish options without having to purchase or switch to special paper, offering new and varied ways to enjoy printing photos.
