Canon announces the availability of uniFLOW v5.3


MELVILLE, N.Y., February 24, 2015 – Canon U.S.A., Inc., Latin America Group, is pleased to announce the availability of uniFLOW v5.3. This version of uniFLOW v5.3 uncovers the full value of Canon multi-functional devices in your customer’s organization and offers one platform for all your customer’s print, scan, and device management needs. uniFLOW v5.3 uncovers the full value of Canon multi-functional devices in your customer’s organization and offers one platform for all your customer’s print, scan, and device management needs. uniFLOW is very strongly identified in the marketplace as a full featured, Output Management solution, and as a very comprehensive and secure Mobile Solution. Now, with the introduction of uniFLOW Capture, uniFLOW v5.3 extends its capabilities into Document Capture and Distribution, as well as Information Management and Workflow categories. With the consistency of one platform to build from, and the modularity to decide which capabilities to add, uniFLOW v5.3 will add value to your customer’s organizations and create opportunity for you to provide more services and gain more revenue.

Key Features & Benefits of uniFLOW v5.3:

Flexible by Design: With the introduction of the uniFLOW SmartClient, we can now allow customers with a distributed, multi-site infrastructure to still print securely and track costs without the need for local print servers in each office. Its functionality includes the uniFLOW Universal Driver (PCL/XL), Print accounting, Secure printing, Rules-based routing, and encryption and compression of print jobs.

The SmartClient was designed to be flexible, where configuration of the print environment can be customized based on your customers’ needs. In turn, this provides you an opportunity to offer a more supple solution at a reduced cost.

uniFLOW Capture: Not only has uniFLOW Scanning improved with new backend destinations, such as the new Cloud and DMS/ECM destinations, but with the introduction of uniFLOW Capture Device License for MEAP, we can now offer uniFLOW Scanning at a competitively priced, per-device cost.

uniFLOW Capture is a true advanced scanning solution offering follow-me scanning directly from MEAP-enabled MFPs, mobile devices, and hot folders, processing and conversion of documents, and distribution to a number of destinations, including Cloud applications, DMS/ECM applications, and Therefore™.

Multi-Vendor Support: The uniFLOW Release Station (URS) is a device independent touch screen with an embedded card reader that allows for uniFLOW Secure Printing across a multi-vendor fleet environment, and with it, we can replicate the Canon MEAP UI across device platforms, giving end users a consistent look and feel when retrieving their print jobs at any networked device. The URS offers the three basic types of login (Card authentication, PIN code, and/or Username and Password), multi-level cost center selection, an easy, wizard-driven installation, and three different mounting options.
